Shopping for the Holiday

I had to do some last minute shopping for the holidays and boy was it crazy when I got to the stores. I could not believe the number of people that wait until the last minute to get things for such a big food holiday. (Sorry if you are one of those people, I just know that stresses me out way too much). I got a bunch of stuff from several stores and for several different things.

All the Christmas stuff (candy molds, Snowman box and bags, candy canes, and Snow Penguin) came from a work trip for Christmas decorations at Wal-Mart. I am not a huge Wal-Mart shopper, but it was the best place for what we needed for work and when I saw these cute things for Christmas all for $1 or less I knew I had to grab them!

Then it was off to my favorite little produce store were I got all my fruits and veggies for $11. There are 2 huge bags of Granny Smith apples in there for my pie (coming soon) 2 containers of mushrooms (for Thanksgiving dinner), 3 lbs of carrots, blueberries, and a bunch of romaine lettuce.

Then at Wegmans I needed potatoes and cream cheese (for some Christmas cookies –both where on sale until Saturday) and some breakfast sausage for Hubby for some thing fun on Thanksgiving morning!

Do you like to shop ahead or get everything last minute for big holiday meals?

  1. Having never made an entire big meal for myself, and loving any excuse to go to the grocery store, I'd probably do a little here and there. I do like to stock up if there is a sale, though. :)
