Ready for the week and weekend

Last weekend Hubby and I knew we needed to get ready for the week of meals plus our Super Bowl party over the weekend. With a house with not much in it, we knew that meant a trip to Costco, Wegmans, and Target to stock up. Nearly $100 later (which is a huge trip for us, but will last us a long time) we had a full house of food.

Let’s see if I can remember all that we got….

Honey Dijon mustard (for a meatloaf recipe coming soon), sliced jalapeno’s (for Hubby's salad), pasta sauce (0n sale), cottage cheese (for my salad’s) dips and salsa (for the Super Bowl), fresh bread for dinners this week, ground turkey and beef (for the meatloaf and chili), onions (chili), celery (for Hubby), milk, hummus cups (for lunches), mushrooms (for dinners), frozen apps (for the Super Bowl and on sale!), bagels, cheese (on sale), cereal, rice mix (it was new and looked fun), PB (on sale), ranch (for the Super Bowl wings), chips, and rice.

I guess when you look at it all we did get a lot. I just wonder how it adds up so quick sometimessmile_embaressed Do you set a monthly shopping budget like we do? If you do what helps you stick to it?
